Boise Bike Share Proposal

The Boise Valley Regional Transit has put out a request for proposals for a bike share program. The proposal opened on July 2nd with responses due on August 13th for a 5 year contract.

Current System

Map of Boise’s current system.

Boise GreenBike started in 2015 and has operated with ~100 bikes. Social Bicycles a.k.a. JUMP was running the system but got bought by Uber. Uber will not keep the system running so they are looking for the next version.

There are three scooter companies — Lime, Bird and Spin — in Boise who have a total of 750 scooters permitted.

Request for Proposal

Boise is looking for a next generation bike rental system with the following features preferred:

  • 500+ bikes
  • Hybrid dockless / use existing stations
  • Advertising on bikes to allow sponsors

Here’s what they will evaluate proposals:

  • Overview of company, timeline, technology, and budget
  • References from current / previous clients
  • Sustainable business plan

Looking for Partners

We have built the software and hardware integrations to help anyone run a scooter or bike rental company.

I’m now looking for partners in the Boise area to run the system and bike manufacturers to partner with.
